Missions Outreach

Ladies Mission Fellowship meets monthly at 7PM on the second Monday of each month, September through May. All women are invited to participate with our White Cross projects that support our American Baptist National and International missionaries all over the world. This hands on ministry focuses heavily on cutting and rolling bandages, cutting quilt blocks and filling other segments of our yearly White Cross quota. We also supply Church World Services with Health Kits, School Kits, Blankets and other items. Our evenings are filled with not only accomplishing our quota work but also for fellowship and bonding together. We have a short devotion and serve refreshments.

Love Gift Offering ............. Love Gift is an over and above offering received monthly expressing our thanks to God for our own received blessings and our desire to share these blessings with others through monetary gifts of giving.  The money that we place in our Love Gift boxes at home during the month as we are blessed helps to support the entire American Baptist Family: National, Educational, International, Regional and American Baptist Women's Ministries outreach.  For those that would like to participate in this offering, we have Love Gift Boxes available for you to take home and bring back to our monthly meetings.

We continue to collect canceled, non canceled, Christmas, commemorative, and foreign stamps as well as Campbell's Labels (UPC Codes are to be cut off labels) and other specific label UPC Codes (see posted list on Women's Ministry bulletin board) in support of mission outreach.  If you would like your own list of what UPC Codes to save, check the Women’s ministry board downstairs at church or see Barbara Paige.

We participate with the American Baptist Mission Travelcade of Northeast Connecticut which is scheduled in the early Spring. This is a time to meet with one of our missionaries who is home on leave and to learn more of what is happening in her specific area of the world in which she is serving the Lord, whether National or International. This event is also the time in which the Northeast American Baptist Women hold their annual meeting. These meetings rotate within the Northeast area of American Baptist churches each taking a turn in hosting this event.

The American Baptist Women of the State of CT hold their yearly Annual Conference in June in a centrally located church within the state.

September is the month designated for the American Baptist Women of CT to gather for a one day retreat which is held at Camp Wightman located in Griswold, CT. We enjoy a keynote speaker and variety of workshops along with a lovely lunch. It is a time for women to fellowship and relax together.

Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer is another outreach event that is scheduled yearly in November. We go to a local nursing home and bring refreshments and share a prayer service program with the residents. It is a very uplifting event for the residents. All women, girls/teens, young children are encouraged to attend.
