Lift Me Up
Capital Fund Project

The members and friends of the South Woodstock Baptist Church want to thank everyone who participated in our “Lift Me Up” Capital Fund Campaign to see our entire church building made handicapped accessible.  The fund-raising component was completed in early autumn and the installation phase was complete by Thanksgiving Sunday.  We thank God for all of His blessings and praise Him for His faithfulness in seeing the project through tocompletion.

T.he church membership voted at our annual meeting toraise funds for the elevator through a Capital Fund Campaign in order to provide greater accessibility to the Sanctuary and Sunday School classrooms in our historic building on the Green in South Woodstock .  The initial goal of $30,000 was reached and surpassed by September due to the generous support of many members and friends of the church which included donations from several area businesses.  Of particular note was an anonymous gift of $15,000 in the form of a matching funds challenge grant that matched each dollar given toward the project.  The total amount raised for the elevator and stairway renovation was $32,450.

We will be holding a ribbon-cutting and dedication service for their newly installed elevator/chair-lift at noon on Sunday, January 6, 2008.  Members of the “Lift Me Up” campaign would like to invite members of the community to attend the dedication ceremony and see the beautiful installation of the new elevator and stairway renovation.  Refreshments will be served at the ceremony.
